海角乱伦社区鈥檚 Campanella Gallery Kicks Off 2024-25 Season with an Exhibit by Cody Page

August 22, 2024 鈥� The Campanella Gallery at 海角乱伦社区 has opened its 2024-25 season with an exhibit of illustrations and paintings by Cody Page. The exhibit, 鈥淪tudio Illustration: Page Studio 24,鈥� runs through Thursday, Oct. 31.

Page considers illustration as a decorative art with a practical function. Much of Page鈥檚 work is inspired, in part, by Gustave Corubet鈥檚 realism and Eugene Delacroix鈥檚 romanticism. Learning from these two Golden Age artists, Page enjoys painting a story on a single, two-dimensional surface.

鈥淎s an illustrator, I like both hearing and telling stories,鈥� Page said. 鈥淲hether vague or specific, actual or imagined, the story is what I like to paint.鈥�

The Campanella Gallery, directed by Andrea Lee, Ph.D., associate professor of art and design, is located inside Norrington Center on the University鈥檚 flagship campus in Parkville. The Gallery is open during Norrington Center鈥檚 regular business hours:
聽聽聽聽聽鈥⒙� Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽o聽 Norrington Center will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, for the Labor Day holiday
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽o聽 Between Saturday, Oct. 5, and Sunday, Oct. 13, the building will be operating on its Fall Break hours 鈥� Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, closed.
