The governing body of º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø — its Board of Trustees — has elected a new chair for the 2025-26 fiscal year, as well as elected four individuals to serve three-year terms on the board. Elected as chair was Scott Jackman, while Brian Mertz, Lewis Nerman, Sam Stahnke and Levi Young, M.D. were elected to the board, all effective today.

A trio of º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø seniors will showcase their works as part of an exhibit in the University’s Campanella Gallery (located inside Norrington Center on the Parkville Campus), Wednesday, May 6, through Friday, June 26.

º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø Commencement Set for May 9; KCMO Councilman Crispin Rea to Present Keynote Address

Crispin Rea, who represents Kansas City, Mo., on its city council, serving the 4th District as an at-large member, as well as serving on the city council’s finance, governance and public safety committee, will present the keynote address during º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇøâ€™s Kansas City Area Commencement on Saturday, May 9. The ceremony will be held at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Mo., starting at 10 a.m.

º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø Recognizes 2025-26 Academic Achievements at Annual Honors Convocation

º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø students, faculty and staff were recognized for their exceptional scholarly efforts from the 2025-26 academic year as part of the University’s annual Honors Convocation held on April 22 on the flagship Parkville Campus. The University acknowledged outstanding students, faculty and staff with a variety of special awards, in addition to a number of departmental academic honors.

º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇøâ€™s Howell Awards Recognize Leadership Achievements from 2025-26 Academic Year

In celebration of the leadership achievements of º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø students, faculty and staff during the 2025-26 academic year, the Office of Student Life and the Park Student Government Association announced recipients of honors as part of the 31st annual Dr. Doris A. Howell Leadership Awards. The awards program, held on April 15, is named for Howell, a 1944 Park graduate who was an internationally renowned leader in pediatrics and hospice care before passing away in November 2018.

Nine º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø seniors, all majoring in graphic design, will showcase their visual work in print, digital media and illustration during an exhibit on Sunday, May 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the gallery within MADE MOBB, 221 Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City, Mo.

º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø International Center for Music Concert to Feature World-Renowned Pianist Behzod Abduraimov

The º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø International Center for Music’s 2025-26 concert season will come to a conclusion on Friday, May 1, as international superstar pianist and 2013 Park ICM graduate Behzod Abduraimov performs at the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kan., starting at 7:30 p.m.
