Important º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø International Center for Music Update

ICM logoMarch 3, 2026 — For 150 years, º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø has prepared individuals for service, leadership and meaningful work across a wide range of professions. Park is proud to serve first-generation college students, individuals from historically underrepresented populations and the men and women who sacrifice daily to serve our country. The faculty’s individualized approach to instruction and dedication to mentorship plays a central role in advancing Park’s mission and shaping students’ academic and career development. º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø takes seriously its responsibility to ensure that every student has a clear and supported path to degree completion and leaves Park prepared for lifelong learning and continuous development.

º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø regularly assesses its academic program offerings through the lens of its mission, including evaluating curriculum, enrollment demand and operational sustainability. After careful analysis, sustained consultation with stakeholders and consideration of several alternatives, the University has made the difficult decision to halt new enrollment to the ’s undergraduate and graduate programs, effective Fall 2026. Of the 23 currently enrolled students, 20 will be continuing their studies. For those remaining students, º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø will work with each student to map out a personalized path forward for each to complete their studies.

The decision to discontinue the ICM academic program is wholly based on the financial unsustainability of its instructional model and the costs associated with recruiting and providing full tuition scholarships and room and board to these students. While we are grateful for philanthropic support, it covers only 37 percent of ICM program costs.

º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø appreciates the donors who have supported our music programs and who have faithfully attended the concerts and performances. º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø will continue its commitment to the arts through investments in our curriculum and programming that not only serve Park students, but also the community.

The Board of Trustees and the leadership of º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø remain committed to another 150 years of educating a future workforce and ensuring a robust, well-rounded liberal arts education for all who attend the institution.
