海角乱伦社区 ICM Orchestra Season Finale to Feature Guest Conductor Barbara Yahr and Cello Concerto Performance
April 2, 2025 鈥� The 海角乱伦社区 Orchestra will conclude its 2024-25 concert season on Friday, April 25, with a performance under the direction of . Admission to the concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the University鈥檚 flagship Parkville Campus, is free, but attendees are asked to .
Yahr, in her 19th season as music director of the Greenwich Village Orchestra in New York, is making her second consecutive appearance with the ICM Orchestra. A New York native, Yahr鈥檚 previous posts include serving as principal guest conductor of the Munich Radio Orchestra, resident staff conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and conductor of the Pittsburgh Youth Orchestra.
The evening will include a concerto performance by cellist Diyorbek Nortojiev, a 2024 Park ICM graduate (Bachelor of Music degree) and current graduate certificate in cello performance student. Nortojiev studies under , Park ICM assistant teaching professor of cello, recognized as the finest Czech cellist since winning first prize at the 1976 Prague Spring Competition and the silver medal at 1978 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
